Tizer is an iconic British carbonated soft drink, famous for its unique 'red' flavor and vibrant branding. Originally launched in 1924 by Fred Pickup in Manchester, England, it was initially marketed as 'Pickup's Pika Tizer.' The name was eventually shortened to Tizer, and it quickly became a staple of British refreshment culture, known for its secret blend of fruit flavors and sharp carbonation.

Throughout the 20th century, the brand underwent several ownership changes, reflecting the consolidation of the British soft drinks market. It was acquired by the Scottish beverage giant A.G. Barr in 1972. Under A.G. Barr's stewardship, Tizer has maintained its cult status through memorable advertising campaigns and a distinct visual identity that separates it from standard colas or lemon-lime sodas.

Today, Tizer remains a proud part of the A.G. Barr portfolio, manufactured primarily in the United Kingdom at facilities in Cumbernauld and Milton Keynes. While the recipe has been updated over the years to reduce sugar content in line with modern health regulations, it remains owned and operated by the same independent Scottish company that produces the world-famous IRN-BRU.
