Schlumberger is Austria's most historic producer of sparkling wine, founded in 1842 by Robert Alwin Schlumberger. The brand is renowned for introducing the 'Méthode Traditionnelle' (the traditional Champagne method) to Austria. This specific bottle features Grüner Veltliner, the signature grape variety of the region, emphasizing its Austrian pedigree.
Manufacturing remains deeply rooted in Vienna, where the wine is aged in the extensive 300-year-old Schlumberger cellars. While the brand has a long heritage as an independent family business, it was eventually acquired by Underberg. In more recent years, it has become part of the Sektkellerei Schlumberger group, which is currently owned by the holding company of the Swiss businessman Frederik Paulsen.
