Lipton Indian Chai tea

Lipton is one of the world's most recognizable tea brands, originally founded in Scotland in the late 19th century. Thomas Lipton revolutionized the tea industry by making high-quality blends affordable for the masses and purchasing his own tea estates in Ceylon (modern-day Sri Lanka). Throughout the 20th century, the brand became a cornerstone of the Unilever portfolio.

In recent years, the global tea landscape has shifted significantly. In 2022, Unilever completed the sale of most of its tea business, including Lipton, to a dedicated tea company called Ekaterra (now known as LIPTON Teas and Infusions). The company is currently owned by CVC Capital Partners, a leading global private equity firm. While the brand remains headquartered in the Netherlands/UK region, its products are manufactured in multiple locations worldwide, including major facilities in Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, and Poland, to serve different international markets.
