Midas Dekkers - De larf (Book)

'De larf' is a popular non-fiction book by the well-known Dutch biologist and writer Midas Dekkers. The book explores the biological and cultural perspectives on children and their development, likening the childhood stage to that of a larva. It was originally published by Uitgeverij Contact, a historic Dutch publishing house.

Over the years, the publishing landscape has shifted. Uitgeverij Contact merged with Uitgeverij Atlas to form Atlas Contact. This entity is part of the Veen Bosch & Keuning (VBK) publishing group, which is the largest publishing group in the Netherlands. In 2024, the group was acquired by the American multinational Simon & Schuster.
