Atag is a premium Dutch brand with a storied history in the kitchen appliance sector, originally founded in the Netherlands in 1948. The company gained a reputation for high-quality stoves and ovens, becoming a household name in the Benelux region. Over the decades, Atag has focused on combining minimalist design with innovative technology, catering to the high-end culinary market.

In 2000, Atag merged with ETNA and Pelgrim to form the ATAG-Etna-Pelgrim Group. This group was eventually acquired in 2008 by the Gorenje Group, based in Slovenia. Today, Gorenje—and by extension its brands like Atag—is a part of Hisense Europe, the regional arm of the Chinese multinational Hisense. While the brand retains its Dutch design identity and primary headquarters in Duiven, the manufacturing is largely integrated into Hisense's broader European infrastructure, with major production facilities located in Slovenia and Italy to serve the international market.
