Marne is a historic Dutch mustard brand founded in 1895 in Groningen. It originally started as a mustard factory named 'De Marne', referring to the local region. Over more than a century, it has grown into one of the most recognizable mustard brands in the Netherlands, even earning the title of 'Purveyor to the Royal Household'.
While it was a family-owned business for much of its history, Marne was eventually acquired by the French company Gyma, and subsequently became part of the Dutch-based company Van Dijk Food Products (Levo). Today, it remains headquartered and produced in Groningen, maintaining its Dutch heritage while operating under modern corporate ownership. The product shown is their 'Mild French' variety, a staple in Dutch kitchens.
