Deanston is a renowned Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery located on the banks of the River Teith, near Doune. The facility was originally a cotton mill built in 1785 before being converted into a distillery in 1965. It is celebrated for its environmentally friendly production methods, including being powered by its own hydroelectric turbines. The whisky is known for its un-chill-filtered process and natural color, often featuring a waxy, honeyed profile. Since 2013, the brand has been under the ownership of Distell Group, which was subsequently acquired by the multinational drinks giant Heineken N.V. through its controlled subsidiary Sunrita and the formation of Capevin.
