Musto is a world-renowned brand specializing in high-performance sailing and outdoor apparel. The brand was founded in 1964 by Keith Musto, a British Olympic sailor and silver medalist, who realized that traditional wool sweaters and flannel trousers were inadequate for the rigors of competitive sailing. He pioneered the use of technical fabrics to keep sailors warm and dry, eventually establishing Musto as a leader in offshore foul weather gear.

While the brand originated in the United Kingdom, its manufacturing is now distributed across multiple countries in Asia and Europe to leverage specialized performance textile facilities. In 2017, Musto was acquired by the Norwegian outdoor specialist Helly Hansen, which was subsequently acquired by the Canadian company Canadian Tire Corporation. Today, Musto continues to be the choice of professional sailors and equestrian athletes worldwide, maintaining its heritage of British engineering under international ownership.
