Originally known for its high-quality hosiery and knitting expertise, the brand became a staple in the European market for comfortable and durable undergarments and socks.

In the early 2000s, Ergee faced financial difficulties and was eventually acquired by the KiK Textilien und Non-Food GmbH, a leading German textile discounter. Today, Ergee serves as one of KiK's primary private labels, focusing on basic apparel, socks, and infant wear. While the brand remains German in its origins and design philosophy, the manufacturing is outsourced globally, primarily to production hubs in Asia and Eastern Europe, to maintain competitive pricing for the mass market.
