Woolrich is one of the oldest outdoor clothing brands in the world, founded in 1830 in Pennsylvania, USA. Historically known for supplying blankets to soldiers during the American Civil War and for its iconic Buffalo Check flannel, the brand transitioned from a domestic American manufacturer to a global luxury heritage label.

Today, Woolrich is primarily owned by the Luxembourg-based investment firm L-GAM Advisors, which acquired a majority stake from the Italian textile company WP Lavori in Corso. While the brand's heart remains in its American history, its design direction is heavily influenced by its Italian management. Manufacturing is globalized, with production occurring across Europe and Asia, particularly for its high-performance outerwear and premium knitwear lines.
