Center Parcs holiday park

Center Parcs is a pioneer in the European tourism industry, specializing in short-break holidays in forested areas with its signature dome-covered water parks known as Aqua Mundo. The concept was originally founded in the Netherlands in 1968 by Piet Derksen, who opened the first park, De Lommerbergen.

The brand has grown significantly across Europe, with parks located in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, and the UK. While the brand operates under a single name, the ownership is split by geography. The UK business is owned separately from the mainland European operations. The mainland European branch is currently a major asset within the Pierre & Vacances group, which underwent significant financial restructuring in the early 2020s to solidify its future as a leader in sustainable eco-tourism.
