Lindt LINDOR is a flagship chocolate line produced by the Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli. The brand originated in 1845 in Zurich, Switzerland, when David Sprüngli-Schwarz and his son Rudolf Sprüngli-Ammann produced the first solid chocolate bar in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. The specific LINDOR recipe, famous for its smooth melting center, was later introduced in 1949.
Today, Lindt & Sprüngli is a global leader in the premium chocolate market. Manufacturing takes place across several major facilities in Europe and the United States, including key locations in Switzerland (Kilchberg), Germany (Aachen), France (Oloron-Sainte-Marie), Italy (Induno Olona), and the USA (Stratham, New Hampshire). The company remains an independent, publicly traded entity under the official name Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Sprüngli AG.
