Dorset Cereals was founded in 1989 by Terry Crabb and originally operated from a mill in Poundbury, Dorset, England. The brand built a prestigious reputation for its high-quality muesli, porridge, and granola, focusing on simple, minimally processed ingredients and distinctive, premium packaging. Over the years, it became a staple of British breakfast tables, synonymous with the 'slow' breakfast movement.
In 2014, the brand was acquired by Associated British Foods (ABF) from Wellness Foods. Following this acquisition, the production landscape shifted. While the brand maintains its British heritage through its name and marketing, much of the large-scale manufacturing was relocated to facilities in Poland to leverage ABF's pan-European supply chain efficiency. Today, it remains a key player in the global cereal market, owned by one of the largest food processing and retail groups in the world, with its products sold in over 70 countries.
