Zendium is a well-known oral care brand that was originally developed in the Netherlands in 1969 by Dr. Henk Hoogendoorn. The brand gained prominence for its unique formulation that utilizes natural enzymes and proteins to strengthen the mouth's own natural defenses, rather than relying on harsh antibacterial agents. It was originally launched under the Dutch company AKZO (now AkzoNobel).

Ownership of the brand transitioned to the British-Dutch multinational Unilever, which helped expand its presence globally, particularly in Europe and Scandinavia. Today, Zendium remains a key part of Unilever's hygiene portfolio.
