A.P.C. (Atelier de Production et de Création) is a renowned French fashion label founded in 1987 by Jean Touitou. The brand rose to prominence by reacting against the ostentatious luxury trends of the late 1980s, instead focusing on minimalist designs, clean lines, and high-quality raw materials. It is most famous for its signature raw denim jeans, which are sought after globally for their specific Japanese selvedge fabric and classic fit.

While the brand is deeply rooted in Parisian culture, its manufacturing is distributed globally to balance craftsmanship with production needs. High-end leather goods and footwear are frequently crafted in Portugal, while various apparel lines are manufactured in factories across Vietnam and Turkey. Despite its international reach and expansion into a full lifestyle brand including music and fine arts, A.P.C. has maintained a reputation for subversive simplicity and timeless style.

Ownership of the brand transitioned in 2023 when the private equity firm L Catterton acquired a majority stake in the company. This move was intended to accelerate the brand’s international growth while preserving the creative vision established by the Touitou family. Today, A.P.C. continues to operate as a leading independent-minded house in the contemporary luxury segment.
