Lamb Weston is a globally recognized leader in the frozen potato industry, famously known for being a major supplier to top-tier quick-service restaurants and retailers. Founded 75 years ago by Gilbert Lamb in Weston, Oregon, the company revolutionized the industry with the invention of the 'Water Gun Knife' in the 1960s, a technology that allowed potatoes to be sliced at high speeds using water pressure.
Today, the company is headquartered in Eagle, Idaho. Its manufacturing operations are concentrated in the world's premier potato-growing regions, particularly the Columbia River Basin in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. However, its reach is truly global, with a manufacturing and distribution network that spans across North America, Europe, China, and Australia to serve more than 100 countries.
Since its spin-off from Conagra Brands in 2016, Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. has operated as an independent, publicly-traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. It manages a diverse portfolio that includes its namesake brand as well as others like Alexia Foods and Grown in Idaho. The company remains the ultimate owner of its brand operations worldwide.
