Heinz Chilli Beanz are a popular extension of the classic Heinz Baked Beans line, featuring navy beans in a spicy tomato sauce with chili and spices. The brand originated in the United States in 1869 when Henry J. Heinz founded the H. J. Heinz Company in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. While the company began with horseradish, it became globally famous for its '57 Varieties' marketing and its iconic tomato ketchup and baked beans.
Today, Heinz is a global powerhouse under the ownership of Kraft Heinz, a company formed by the high-profile merger of Kraft Foods Group and H.J. Heinz Holding Corporation in 2015. While the brand is American, the canned bean products sold in European markets are predominantly manufactured at the Kitt Green factory in Wigan, England, which is one of the largest food processing plants in the world. The brand continues to lead the market by evolving its traditional recipes to meet modern tastes for spice and plant-based protein options.
