Marc O'Polo is a premium fashion brand with a unique Swedish-German heritage. Founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1967 by Rolf Lind, Göte Huss, and Jerry O'Sheets, the brand was built on the philosophy of using natural materials like cotton, wool, and linen at a time when synthetic fibers were becoming popular. This commitment to naturalness and a relaxed Scandinavian aesthetic remains a cornerstone of the brand's identity today, often reflected in its tagline 'EST. IN STOCKHOLM'.
While the brand originated in Sweden, its strategic and operational center shifted to Germany over several decades. Werner Böck, the brand's original distribution partner in Germany, gradually acquired the company and moved its headquarters to Stephanskirchen, Bavaria, in 1997. Today, Marc O'Polo SE is the ultimate holding company, primarily owned and managed by the Böck family. Manufacturing is outsourced globally to various locations, including Portugal, Turkey, Vietnam, China, and India, to ensure high-quality production of its extensive range of apparel and lifestyle products.
