Tate + Lyle Demerara Sugar

Tate + Lyle is one of the most iconic British brands, with a history in the sugar industry dating back to the 19th century when Henry Tate and Abram Lyle formed their respective sugar refinery businesses. The brand is synonymous with the development of the sugar cube and the production of golden syrup.

Today, the Tate + Lyle Sugars brand, which includes products like this Demerara sugar packet, is owned by American Sugar Refining, Inc. (ASR Group). While the original Tate & Lyle PLC company still exists as a global supplier of food and beverage ingredients, the consumer sugar refining business was sold to ASR Group in 2010. The production for most UK consumer products continues to take place at the historic Thames Refinery in Silvertown, London.
