Rennie is a well-known brand of antacid tablets used to treat heartburn and indigestion by neutralizing stomach acid. The brand's history dates back to the early 20th century when it was created by John Rennie. Originally an independent product, it became a cornerstone of the digestive health market due to its simple calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate formula.
For many years, the brand was part of Roche's consumer health portfolio. However, in 2005, the German pharmaceutical giant Bayer AG acquired Roche's over-the-counter (OTC) business, bringing Rennie under its ownership. Today, Rennie is one of Bayer's key global brands in the digestive health sector. While Bayer is headquartered in Germany, the production of Rennie tablets for the European market primarily takes place in France at specialized pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
