Interpolis is one of the most prominent insurance brands in the Netherlands, widely recognized for its long-standing slogan 'Interpolis. Glashelder' (Crystal Clear). The company was founded in 1969 through a merger of several regional Catholic agricultural insurance cooperatives, including BTL, ABTB, LLTB, LTB, and NCB. Its roots are deeply embedded in the Dutch cooperative tradition, specifically serving the farming and gardening communities.
Over the decades, Interpolis became part of the Rabobank Group through various mergers in the 1990s. This partnership solidified its presence as the primary insurance provider for Rabobank customers. In 2005, a major restructuring occurred where Interpolis merged with Achmea. Today, Interpolis operates as a major brand under the Achmea umbrella, which is the largest insurance group in the Netherlands. The brand remains synonymous with transparency and simplified insurance products, headquarters in Tilburg, and strictly serving the Dutch market.
