Lipton is one of the world's most recognizable tea brands, originally founded in Scotland by Sir Thomas Lipton in the late 19th century. From its humble beginnings in Glasgow, it grew into a global powerhouse known for democratizing tea and making it affordable for the masses. The 'Do the Detox' variety is a modern herbal infusion featuring ingredients like nettle, meadowsweet, and rosemary, reflecting the brand's expansion into wellness-oriented products.

While Lipton has deep British roots, its manufacturing is now highly decentralized. The tea is produced and blended in various facilities globally to serve local markets efficiently. Following a major corporate restructure, the tea division of Unilever was spun off into an independent entity known as Ekaterra. In 2022, Ekaterra was acquired by CVC Capital Partners, and the company was subsequently rebranded as LIPTON Teas and Infusions. This private equity-led ownership manages over 30 tea brands, maintaining Lipton's position as a global market leader while streamlining its headquarters in the Netherlands.
