VegaFina is a prominent premium tobacco brand that was originally created in Spain during the late 20th century. The name itself refers to the 'Vegas Finas' (fine plains), the unique fertile lands where sunshine, moisture, and soil composition create a perfect environment for growing high-quality tobacco leaves.
While the brand has its roots in Spanish distribution and heritage, its production is centered in the Dominican Republic at the Tabacalera de Garcia factory, one of the largest hand-rolled cigar factories in the world.
Ownership of the brand has transitioned through major tobacco conglomerates. It was originally part of Tabacalera S.A. in Spain. Following the merger that created Altadis, the brand eventually came under the umbrella of Imperial Brands. In 2020, Imperial Brands sold its premium cigar business (including VegaFina) to an investment consortium, Allied Cigar Corporation, which now serves as the ultimate owner.
