Efferaldol is a well-known brand of paracetamol marketed in Spain, equivalent to the global brand Efferalgan. It is a pharmaceutical product used for the symptomatic relief of mild to moderate pain and fever.
The brand was originally developed by the French pharmaceutical company UPSA (Union de Pharmacologie Scientifique Appliquée). For many years, UPSA was a subsidiary of the American multinational Bristol-Myers Squibb. However, in 2019, the brand and its parent company were acquired by Taisho Pharmaceutical, a major Japanese pharmaceutical entity. Most production continues to take place at UPSA's historic manufacturing facilities in Agen, France, which serve as a hub for distributing these effervescent tablets throughout Europe and beyond.
