Ligier is a historic French automotive brand founded in 1969 by former racing driver and rugby player Guy Ligier. While the brand gained international fame for its participation in Formula 1 between 1976 and 1996, it successfully pivoted its expertise toward the specialized niche of micro-mobility and 'voitures sans permis' (vehicles requiring no full driver's license).

Today, the brand operates under the Ligier Group, which was formed in 2008 following a merger with Microcar. The manufacturing is concentrated in France, primarily at their historic headquarters in Abrest (Allier) and another facility in Boufféré (Vendée). These sites handle the complete production cycle, from design and assembly to testing. The consumer lineup features popular models like the JS50 and the all-electric Myli, catering to urban commuters and younger drivers across Europe. Since 2016, the Ligier Group has been under the ultimate ownership of Edify, an international investment firm that holds a majority stake in the company, supporting its transition toward sustainable electric mobility and global expansion.
