Cadbury Twirl is a popular chocolate bar consisting of flaked milk chocolate coated in a smooth layer of Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. Originally launched in Ireland in 1970 as a single-bar format before being released in the United Kingdom in 1984, it has since become one of the brand's most successful global products.
While the brand has deep British roots dating back to Birmingham in 1824, Cadbury is now owned by the American multinational conglomerate Mondelēz International (formerly Kraft Foods). Manufacturing for Twirl bars occurs in various locations globally to serve different markets; British and Irish stock is primarily produced in Coolock, Ireland, and Bournville, UK, while Australian and New Zealand stock is largely manufactured in Ringwood, Australia.
Today, Twirl is sold in various formats including standard twin bars, 'Share Packs' of mini bars, and occasional limited-edition flavors. The product remains a staple of the global confectionery market under the stewardship of Mondelēz, which manages the brand across more than fifty countries.
