Kettle Firemasters is a premium range of kettle-cooked potato chips designed to capture high-heat, flame-grilled flavors. The Kettle brand has a complex international history; while the brand originally started in the United States, the Australian wing of Kettle was established separately and has become a household name in the Oceania region. The Australian business is known for using locally grown potatoes and slow-cooking them in small batches to achieve its signature crunch.
Ownership of the Australian Kettle brand has changed hands several times in recent years. Historically part of Snack Brands Australia, it was acquired by the Philippine-based multinational corporation Universal Robina Corporation (URC) in 2016. In 2019, Intersnack Group, a German snack food giant, entered into a joint venture with URC for its Australian and New Zealand operations. By 2021, Intersnack Group's Oceania subsidiary, Snack Brands Australia, took full ownership of the brand. This ensures that while the brand has localized production in Australia, its ultimate corporate parent is headquartered in Germany.
