V Energy Original

V Energy is a iconic energy drink brand that rose to prominence in the late 1990s. Originally launched in August 1997 in New Zealand, it quickly became the market leader in the Oceania region. The drink is best known for its distinctive green packaging and its formula centered around guarana extract, which provides its signature caffeinated boost.

The brand was developed by Frucor Beverages, a company that began as a juice manufacturing unit for the New Zealand Apple and Pear Marketing Board. Over the decades, the brand has expanded its global footprint, becoming a staple in the Australian market where much of its manufacturing and distribution now takes place.

Ownership of V Energy transitioned significantly in 2009 when the Japanese conglomerate Suntory Group acquired Frucor. Today, the brand is managed under the Suntory Oceania umbrella, following a massive merger of Suntory’s local beverage operations. While it maintains its strong New Zealand heritage, it is now part of a global portfolio owned by one of the world's largest consumer goods companies headquartered in Japan.
