Gauloises Liberté cigarettes

Gauloises is one of the most famous tobacco brands in the world, deeply rooted in French culture and history. Originally launched in 1910, it became an iconic symbol of French patriotism and was famously smoked by key intellectual and cultural figures. The brand is instantly recognizable by its logo depicting a Winged Helmet and its historical association with strong, dark tobacco.

Historically, the brand was produced by the French state monopoly SEITA. However, through several mergers and acquisitions, the brand entered the portfolio of the British multinational Imperial Brands (formerly Imperial Tobacco). Today, while the brand maintains its French identity, production has been decentralized. After the closure of the last major manufacturing plant in France in 2017, production moved to various facilities across Europe, including Germany and Poland, to serve the international market.
