Ariel is a globally recognized brand of laundry detergent that first appeared on the market in 1967. The brand was originally developed by Procter & Gamble in the United Kingdom as a high-performance laundry solution for both top-loading and front-loading washing machines. Over the decades, Ariel has pioneered several innovations in the laundry sector, including biological detergents and the 'PODS' design shown here, which combine multiple cleaning technologies into a single pre-dosed capsule.
Today, Ariel is owned by the American multinational consumer goods corporation Procter & Gamble (P&G). While the brand originated in the UK, its distribution and manufacturing network is now global. For the European market, particularly the 'Todo en 1' variant marketed in Spain and Portugal, a significant portion of manufacturing takes place in Amiens, France, although P&G operates numerous production facilities across the European Union and worldwide to supply local markets.
