The NET Digital HD Remote Control is a peripheral designed for the Brazilian cable television market. It was specifically produced for NET Serviços de Comunicação, which was once the largest cable operator in Latin America. Originally founded in Brazil by the Globopar group, the brand became a household name synonymous with pay-TV and broadband services.
Over the years, the ownership of the brand shifted as the telecommunications market consolidated. Mexican giant América Móvil gradually increased its stake in the company until it was fully integrated into Claro Brasil. Consequently, the NET brand was officially retired in 2019, with its services continuing under the Claro brand. The manufacturing of these specific remote units is typically outsourced to large-scale electronics manufacturers in China, adhering to the technical specifications required for the Brazilian set-top boxes.
