Subaru Crosstrek SUV

The Subaru Crosstrek is a compact crossover SUV that has become a staple of the Subaru lineup. Originally launched as the XV, it shares its platform with the Subaru Impreza but features a higher ground clearance and rugged styling. The brand Subaru has its roots in Japan, evolving from the aircraft manufacturer Nakajima Aircraft Company.

Today, Crosstreks are primarily manufactured in two locations: the Gunma Plant in Japan for international markets and, more recently, at Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) in Lafayette, Indiana, to meet the high demand in North America. This dual-country manufacturing strategy allows Subaru to maintain high quality standards while optimizing logistics for its largest markets.

Subaru is a division of Subaru Corporation, formerly known as Fuji Heavy Industries. While Toyota owns a significant minority stake in the company, Subaru remains an independent brand with its own engineering philosophy, famously centered around Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Boxer engines.
