Radox is a historic British brand specializing in bath and shower products, famously known for its 'Mineral Therapy' formulations. The brand's journey began in 1908 when it was founded by Louise and George Holliday. The name 'Radox' was originally derived from the 'radiant oxygen' used in its innovative footbath salts, which were designed to soothe and refresh tired feet. Throughout the 20th century, the brand expanded into a wide range of bubble baths, shower gels, and hand washes, maintaining its identity as a provider of nature-inspired, therapeutic hygiene products.
Over the decades, the ownership of Radox has transitioned through several major corporations. It was famously under the umbrella of Sara Lee Corporation for many years. In 2011, as part of a significant divestment of Sara Lee's personal care division, the brand was acquired by the global consumer goods giant Unilever. This acquisition allowed the brand to leverage Unilever's extensive international distribution network and sustainability initiatives, such as transitioning to recycled plastic packaging.
Today, Radox remains a household staple in the United Kingdom and several international markets. While much of its heritage is rooted in British manufacturing, as a Unilever-owned brand, its products are manufactured in various facilities across Europe and other regions to meet global demand. The brand continues to focus on its core mission of using fragrance and minerals to transform the user's mood and well-being.
