Beck's Gold is a popular mild lager that was launched by the Beck & Co. brewery to appeal to a younger, more modern demographic. Originally founded in Bremen, Germany, in 1873, the brewery became famous for its iconic green bottles and the key emblem, which represents the city seal of Bremen.

Today, while the brand maintains its historical identity and significant production facilities in Bremen, it is part of a global conglomerate. Ownership has shifted from the original family-held company to international brewing giant Interbrew, and eventually into the portfolio of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the largest brewer in the world. As a global brand, while much of the Beck's consumed in Europe is brewed in Germany under the Reinheitsgebot (purity laws), it is also produced under license in various international locations to serve local markets.
