Signia is a leading brand in the audiology industry with a rich heritage originating from Siemens Audiomics. The brand's roots are firmly planted in Germany, where Siemens pioneered the first electronic hearing aids in the early 20th century. Over decades, the brand evolved to incorporate advanced digital signal processing and rechargeable technologies, positioning it as a premium manufacturer of hearing solutions.
In 2015, the Siemens hearing aid division was acquired by Sivantos Group, which later merged with Widex to form WS Audiology in 2019. This merger combined German engineering with Danish innovation, creating one of the largest hearing aid companies globally. Today, the manufacturing and supply chain operations for Signia products are highly centralized in Singapore, though administrative and research hubs remain in Germany and Denmark. The brand continues to be owned by WS Audiology, which is headquartered in Denmark and Singapore, and is backed by prominent investors like EQT and the Tøpholm and Westermann families.
