During the quartz crisis and subsequent industry shifts, the brand was acquired in 1984 by Spanish businessman Miguel Rodríguez, who integrated it into what would become the Festina Group.

Today, Festina's manufacturing is strategically diverse. The brand produces high-end 'Swiss Made' collections in Switzerland to maintain its heritage of craftsmanship, while higher-volume quartz models and components are often manufactured in the group's facilities in Asia. The brand is globally recognized for its long-standing association with professional cycling, notably as the former official timekeeper of the Tour de France.

Ownership of the brand remains private under the Festina Group (Festina Lotus S.A.), headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. The group has grown into a significant horological conglomerate, owning other notable brands such as Lotus, Jaguar, Candino, and Calypso, as well as the Soprod movement manufactory, allowing for a high degree of vertical integration in their production processes.
