Tissot is a historic Swiss watchmaking brand founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son, Charles-Émile Tissot, in the town of Le Locle, Switzerland. The brand has a long-standing reputation for technical innovation, including the development of the first mass-produced pocket watch and the first anti-magnetic wristwatch.

Throughout its history, Tissot has maintained its headquarters and primary manufacturing facilities in Le Locle. The brand merged with Omega in 1930 to form the SSIH (Société Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogère), which later became part of what is now known as the Swatch Group. As a 'Swiss Made' brand, Tissot watches are primarily manufactured in Switzerland, adhering to strict regulations that require at least 60% of production costs to be incurred within the country.

Today, Tissot remains a key subsidiary of the Swatch Group, positioned as a mid-range luxury brand that balances traditional craftsmanship with modern technology. The vintage ladies' square watch shown is characteristic of the mid-20th-century aesthetic that Tissot continues to celebrate through its modern 'Lovely Square' collection.
