The Austrian 1 Ducat gold coin is one of the world's most recognizable bullion coins. Originally circulating in the early 20th century, modern versions are produced as official restrikes by the Austrian Mint. These coins prominently feature the double-headed eagle, the coat of arms of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, and an image of Emperor Franz Joseph I.
Most current specimens are dated 1915, signifying the last year of the regular issue during the Emperor's reign. While they no longer circulate as legal tender for daily transactions, they remain a high-purity (98.6%) gold product favored by investors and collectors globally. The production is centralized at the Münze Österreich in Vienna, ensuring consistent quality and historical fidelity.
