Aquafresh is a long-standing oral hygiene brand originally created by the Beecham Group in 1973 in the United Kingdom. It became famous for its 'triple stripe' delivery, representing decay prevention, healthy gums, and fresh breath. Over the decades, the brand underwent significant ownership changes as the pharmaceutical industry consolidated, moving from Beecham to SmithKline Beecham, and eventually into the portfolio of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).

In recent years, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division into a new independent entity known as Haleon. As of 2026, Haleon serves as the ultimate owner of the brand, continuing its global production. For the European market, a significant portion of Aquafresh's manufacturing takes place in Slovakia, though it is distributed via local subsidiaries across the continent, including Italy and Portugal as indicated on the packaging.
