By 1852, his relative opened the first liqueur factory in Stargard, eventually moving operations to Berlin where the brand became an iconic local institution, famous for its distinct white elephant logo.

Today, the product is still produced in the heart of Berlin within the 'Mampe Erbe' (Mampe Heritage) museum and distillery. It remains a staple of German spirits culture, known for its high alcohol content (often around 45% vol) and its blend of secret herbs and spices.
