Ron del Barrilito is Puerto Rico's oldest rum brand, established in 1880 by Pedro Fernández at Hacienda Santa Ana in Bayamón. Known for its artisanal production methods, the rum is aged in vintage white oak barrels that previously held Oloroso sherry, contributing to its distinct profile. The "Two Stars" variety specifically denotes a blend of rums aged between 3 and 5 years.
Historically, the brand remained within the Fernández family for generations, maintaining a boutique production scale that focused on quality over mass-market volume. In 2017, the brand and its historic estate were acquired by a group of investors led by the Serrallés family (notably linked to Don Q rum) and others through the entity Cinema 40. This acquisition aimed to expand the brand's global reach while preserving the traditional manufacturing techniques that have defined the label for over a century. Today, the brand remains a cornerstone of Puerto Rican spirits heritage.
