Zaitun is a well-known Malaysian brand specializing in personal care products, particularly oral hygiene and toiletries tailored for the Muslim market. The brand gained immense popularity in the 1980s and 1990s with its 'Gunakan Tanpa Was-Was' (Use Without Hesitation) slogan, emphasizing its Halal-certified status. The branding prominently features Malay text such as 'Pudina Tambahan' (Extra Mint) and 'Nafas Segar' (Fresh Breath).
While the brand faced financial difficulties and corporate ownership changes in the early 2000s, it has since been revitalized. It is deeply rooted in Malaysian Islamic consumer culture, representing one of the first major local brands to leverage Halal certification as a primary marketing tool.
