Solán de Cabras is an iconic Spanish brand of premium mineral water, renowned for its distinctive blue glass and plastic bottles. The water is sourced from a single natural spring in Beteta, Cuenca, which has been utilized for its therapeutic properties since Roman times. The spring was officially declared a Public Utility by King Carlos IV in 1790, marking the official beginning of its commercial history.
Throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries, the brand evolved from a medicinal product sold in pharmacies to a lifestyle icon found in high-end restaurants and retail outlets. In 2011, the brand was acquired by Mahou San Miguel, Spain's leading brewery company. To this day, the water is bottled directly at the source in Cuenca, maintaining strict quality controls to preserve its specific mineral composition of magnesium, potassium, and calcium.
