Great Value is the flagship private label brand of Walmart, designed to provide high-quality grocery and household essentials at a lower price point than national brands. Originally introduced in 1993, the brand has grown to encompass thousands of products across virtually every category in the retail space.
As a private label, Great Value products do not come from a single factory. Instead, the manufacturing is contracted out to various food processing companies. For store-brand rice, the product is typically sourced and packaged within the regions where it is sold to minimize logistics costs. In the United States, this often involves major domestic agricultural processors, while specific batches may be sourced from other major rice-producing countries depending on supply chain demands. Ownership remains entirely with Walmart Inc., the world's largest retailer based in Bentonville, Arkansas.
