Bactine is a well-known first aid brand that was originally developed and launched by Miles Laboratories in 1950. It gained fame for its 'no sting' formula, providing both antiseptic properties to prevent infection and a topical anesthetic to relieve pain from minor cuts, scrapes, and burns.
The brand has undergone several changes in ownership over the decades. It was part of Bayer AG's portfolio after Bayer acquired Miles Laboratories in 1978. In 2015, Wellspring Pharmaceutical Corporation acquired the brand from Bayer. Most recently, in 2020, Bactine was acquired by Wellbeam Consumer Health (formerly known as Arcadia Consumer Healthcare), which continues to manage and distribute the product today. The manufacturing is primarily concentrated in the United States to serve North American retail markets.
