JBL is a world-renowned American audio electronics brand with a history dating back to 1946 when it was founded by James Bullough Lansing. The brand has become synonymous with high-quality sound in both professional and consumer markets.

While the brand originated in the United States, its manufacturing processes have largely shifted to China to scale production for its popular portable Bluetooth speaker lines, like the Flip series shown here. Despite the global manufacturing footprint, the engineering and design concepts often retain their American roots.

The ownership of JBL has transitioned through major corporate entities over the decades. Today, JBL is part of the Harman International industries family. In 2017, Samsung Electronics acquired Harman, making the South Korean conglomerate the ultimate parent company of JBL. This acquisition integrated JBL's audio expertise into Samsung's vast technological ecosystem.
