Sterling Salt is a heritage brand best known for its iconic mascot, the 'Sterling Boy,' a yellow-haired character in a striped shirt holding a skillet. The brand's origins are deeply rooted in the American salt industry, specifically linked to the salt mines of Central New York. Originally a product of the International Salt Company, it became a household staple for table salt during the mid-20th century.

Over the decades, the brand has navigated several corporate mergers and acquisitions. Today, Sterling is part of the portfolio of Morton Salt, one of the most recognized salt brands in the world. Morton Salt itself, after being part of K+S (Kali und Salz AG), was acquired by Stone Canyon Industries Holdings and its portfolio company, Kissner Group Holdings. Despite these corporate shifts, Sterling remains a value-oriented brand primarily manufactured and distributed within the United States, utilizing domestic salt production facilities.
