7UP Zero Sugar (Cero Azúcar)

7UP is a world-renowned lemon-lime flavored soft drink that was originally created in 1929 by Charles Leiper Grigg of The Howdy Corporation. The brand quickly became a staple in the beverage industry, eventually evolving its formulation to include diet and zero sugar varieties like the one shown here. The 'Cero Azúcar' branding specifically targets Spanish-speaking markets, emphasizing a sugar-free alternative while maintaining the signature citrus profile.

The brand's history is unique because its ownership is split geographically. In the United States, 7UP is owned and manufactured by Keurig Dr Pepper. Internationally, however, the rights to the brand were acquired by PepsiCo from Philip Morris in 1986. Because of this dual ownership, the manufacturing locations are spread across multiple countries, typically bottled in local facilities through regional franchise agreements. In North America, production is centered in the United States and Mexico, while PepsiCo handles production across Europe, Asia, and South America.
