Hering is one of Brazil's most iconic and historic fashion brands, originally founded by German brothers Bruno and Hermann Hering in 1880 in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. The brand is best known for its high-quality cotton t-shirts and casual wear, symbolized by its famous 'two fish' logo which represents the bond between the founding brothers.
Over the decades, Hering evolved from a textile manufacturer into a retail powerhouse, establishing the Hering Store franchise model which became a staple in Brazilian shopping malls. The company's manufacturing footprint remains deeply rooted in Brazil, maintaining significant industrial operations that support its extensive retail network across Latin America.
In a major consolidation within the Brazilian fashion industry, the brand's parent company, Cia. Hering, was acquired by the Soma Group (Grupo de Moda SOMA S.A.) in 2021. As of 2024 and beyond, following a subsequent merger, the brand is part of the Azzas 2154 portfolio, a massive fashion conglomerate formed by the union of Arezzo&Co and Grupo Soma, making it one of the largest apparel entities in the southern hemisphere.
