Tyrrells is a premium British snack brand founded in 2002 by William Chase at Tyrrells Court Farm in Herefordshire, England. The brand gained international recognition for its hand-cooked potato crisps, often using local potato varieties and focused on a quintessentially British eccentric marketing style. Manufacturing primarily takes place at the original site in Herefordshire, though the brand has expanded its production footprint as it grew internationally.
Over the years, the brand has changed hands several times. It was first sold to Langholm Capital in 2008, then to Investcorp in 2013, and subsequently to Amplify Snack Brands in 2016. In 2018, the Hershey Company acquired Amplify, but shortly thereafter, in May 2018, Tyrrells was sold to KP Snacks, a subsidiary of the German-based Intersnack Group. As of today, Tyrrells remains a key part of the KP Snacks portfolio under the ultimate ownership of Intersnack, continuing its legacy as a premium English crisp maker.
